To ensure a safe and disciplined trading environment for all Geeks and Gamerz, the following rules are strictly enforced. Failure to comply will result in your thread being deleted and a potential temporary ban.
1. The "Physical Proof" Rule (Mandatory)
- The Timestamp: Every "Want to Sell" (WTS) post must include at least one photo of the physical item with a handwritten note.
- The Note must contain: Your Username, the Current Date, and "Geeks n Gamerz" or "G&G".
- Digital overlays or edited text on photos are NOT accepted and will be treated as a scam attempt.
2. Strict Thread Formatting
All titles must follow this format: [Prefix] [City] Item Name | Condition | PriceEvery post must include:Example: [WTS] [LHR] RTX 3080 Rog Strix | 9/10 | 125,000/-
- Condition: (e.g., Brand New, Used 9/10, Parts Only)
- Warranty: (Remaining local warranty, checking warranty, or none)
- Included Items: (Box, cables, receipts, etc.)
- Reason for Selling: (Be honest!)
3. No "Price Policing" or Thread Crapping
- If you think a price is high, do not harass the seller in their thread.
- If you have a legitimate concern about a scam, Report the post to the Admin team.
- Negotiation should happen via Private Message (PM) unless the seller invites public offers.
4. Prohibited Items
- No pirated software, "cracked" accounts, or illegal hardware.
- No medical items, weapons, or unrelated household goods. This is a Tech & Gaming hub.
- No "Refurbished" items disguised as "New."
5. Safety & Liability
- Deal at your own risk. Geeks n Gamerz is a platform for connecting, not an escrow service.
- Face-to-Face: For high-value items (GPUs, Consoles), we strongly recommend public, face-to-face deals.
- Check the Rep: Look at a user's post count and "Reaction Score" before sending money.
6. The "Bumping" & Re-posting Rule
- Frequency: Do not "Bump" (replying to your own thread just to move it to the top) more than once every 24 hours.
- Re-listing: You may only re-post an item as a "New Thread" if the previous one is at least 7 days old or the price has significantly changed.
- Cluttering the forum with multiple threads for the same item will result in a warning.
7. No "Bidding Wars" or Auctioning
- Clear Pricing: Every "Want to Sell" (WTS) thread must have a clear, fixed price.
- No Auctions: Do not post "Highest bidder wins" or "Offer me your best price." If you want to sell, name your price. Negotiations can happen, but the starting point must be clear.
8. The "Sold" Update Requirement
- Closing the Deal: Once an item is sold, the seller must change the prefix to [SOLD] or reply to the thread stating "Item Sold to [Username]."
- This prevents users from wasting time calling or messaging for items that are no longer available.
9. Communication Ethics (PM vs. Thread)
- Public Offers: Keep basic questions (e.g., "Is the warranty local?") in the thread so others can see the answer.
- Privacy: Exchange phone numbers, bank details, or home addresses only via Private Message (PM).
- Posting your phone number in a public thread is discouraged for your own privacy/security.
10. Post Count & Trust Requirement
- Minimum Activity: (Optional but recommended) Users must have at least 5 or 10 posts in the general forums before they are allowed to create a "WTS" thread.
- This prevents "hit-and-run" scammers who join just to post a fake ad and disappear.
11. High-Value Item Verification (Admin Right)
- The Administration reserves the right to ask for additional proof (video of the item working, original receipt) for high-value items (e.g., 200k+ PKR rigs or rare consoles).
- If the Admin/Moderator feels a deal is "too good to be true," we will intervene to protect the community.
12. Mandatory Transaction Feedback (The Trust System)
- The Closing Requirement: Once a deal is finalized and the thread is marked as [SOLD], both the buyer and seller must exchange feedback.
- How to post: The buyer must post a brief comment in the thread (or on the seller's profile) stating:
- Item Condition: Did it match the description?
- Communication: Was the seller responsive?
- Overall Experience: (e.g., "Smooth deal," "Highly recommended," or "Caution: delayed shipping").
- Users who consistently fail to provide feedback for their trading partners may have their marketplace privileges suspended. Reputation is a community effort.
